Feels Like Home: The Longest Day Ever, Brought to You By PVCs and Bigeminy

  • Dee · 2 months ago
Oh girl you must be a wreck.

Thank the Lord you got to the hospital when you did. He sounds like he is getting good medical care.

Let's pray that they continue and that Joe will be up and around soon.

Many many prayers for a speedy recovery.

ps, go right now and stick a diaper in the glove box (just in case). :-)

Oh Tara, I saw bits and pieces of things on Twitter yesterday. I am so glad that the doctor's now know what has been making Joe feel so lousy. Having a plan of attack and knowing he will feel better soon must be bitter sweet news. Hugs and prayers coming your way.

sooo many thoughts and prayers. i can't even imagine the sort of day the 3 of you had yesterday.
  • Tara · 2 months ago
Adrienne - That's the thing. I always have 2 diapers in the glove box and two more in the map pocket of my seat. I know Joe has been having some trouble with disorientation and stuff, so I'm thinking that he used them and forgot to put them back. Or used them and forgot to mention it to me. Or something. I always have 4 spare diapers; I'm paranoid about being caught without one.
  • Gina · 2 months ago
Oh, Tara. So sorry to hear about this! You were very strong and did a great job. Glad to hear Joe's in good hands and that you have some answers. Hang in there!

First of all, you did a great job describing the physiology involved with the beating heart! Bygiminy is very serious when left untreated. So glad this ER doc was having her A - game! Will continue the prayers.

Wow. Not exactly how you wanted to spend the weekend. But I pray that the problem is quickly corrected and that Joe will be feeling great in no time! (And I love the idea of extra diapers in the glove box!)

    Love and prayers!

    Tara,
I just can't even imagine what you must be going through. Thank you for writing such an informative post. It raises awareness about what a simple dizzy spell can mean. I wish Joe a swift recovery, and hugs to both you and Grace! Off to give my husband a big kiss now...

Don't beat yourself up about things you should/shouldn't do. I took care of my dad when he had cancer and it's impossible to care for someone and do it sweetly all the time. That's that mommy gene inside you that makes u feel guilty. Joe knows u love him. And u aren't perfect. So what? You deal with things the way you need to, but don't make yourself useless with guilt. Your kids need u too. I don't know all the details about your husband, but I do wish you well. I sent a prayer...just now...cause I know that is more powerful than worry. Xxoo

Oh Tara I'm so sorry and happy at the same time over this. Obviously sorry that you guys are going through this at all. But at the same time happy that the right doctor was there to make the diagnosis and that hopefully soon he will feel better. Bless your heart, that whole day must have been a nightmare for you.

And do not feel guilty at any of the times you snapped at him. We are all human living every day ordinary lives and the only time that is a problem is when something like this happens.

Oh honey... what a day. It's great that you had the presence of mind to do what was necessary to take care of your family. You are your husband's angel, even if you didn't kiss his morning-breathy self.

    Hugs, Lady!!

Wow. I was diagnosed with PVC's when I was 18 and have dealt with them on and off since. I was told they're not a big deal and that they wouldn't ever cause any major issues.

Now I'm wondering if I should look into it a bit further!

Glad to hear he's going to be okay, and I'm sorry you had such a rough day. xoxo

Sure makes you appreciate what you have doesn't it? I love your comments about how we sometimes say things to our husbands (or kids for that matter) that we shouldn't and that we may never know when it may have been our last chance.
Thank goodness he is going to be ok, and that you are all safe (him driving the car while this was all going on).
    God is good.

I'm continuing with lots of positive thoughts for Joe and you and Grace. Hang in there! Don't regret anything you did that day - we can't go back and change anything in the past. We are who we are. Learn from mistakes you think you have made. If you regret not showing Joe enough love, then go forward making it your own personal goal to do that more often. Again, we can't change the past, only the future.

Sending lots of big hugs for you, Joe, and Grace!

I can't even imagine going through that. This type of thing just makes me realize I do need to be a little nicer to my husband (and he to me) and we should not take each other granted, not even for a second. I will pray that he recovers and that they find medicines that help him. Thank goodness you got to the ER when you did and that someone finally figured out what was going on!

Okay, I tried not to laugh, but the part about your daughter peeing on herself because she had no diaper was just the perfect slice of "real" life. Television, movies, and books never have "real" life. I'm so sorry you're struggling so, but the accident and the cartoons on the iPhone just illustrated how much moms handle, even during a crisis.

You're precious, Tara. I saw this back when it was going on but I'm not sure I took time to tell you I was praying. Now, laid up in the bed for a few days w/the Crud...I'm tellin' you :).

So thankful this is in your "history" not your present today!
